PRP (platelet rich plasma) is the newer treatment offered by shubham skin clinic at Pune Sinhagad road for severe hair loss in both males & females.
Platelet rich plasma or often termed as PRP is concentrated blood plasma (composition of blood) that contains approximately 5 times the number of platelets found in normal blood circulation. Platelets contain much amount of stem cells & growth factors which promotes regeneration of cells & healing at wound site. It helps to stimulate hair regeneration & growth. If hair follicles or hair roots are healthy the growth of hair is healthy .Hair follicles survive on the nutrition they get from blood supply. Due to some causes this nutrition gets hampered & it causes severe hair fall at particular area. If we introduce platelets by administering PRP in the area of damaged hair follicles or area where there is hair loss, PRP amplifies body’s naturally occurring wound healing mechanism & helps in the regeneration of hair follicles. Approximately 40-50 ml blood is collected from your vein. It is very similar to having a routine blood tests performed in clinics. The blood collected is put in specific container which is then placed in machine called centrifuge. In centrifuge technique blood container is circulated (rotated) in particular time so that blood components get separated. In this way concentrated platelets are separated with a scientific medical lab technology. These concentrated platelets called PRP (Platelet rich plasma) containing abundant stem cells & growth factors are now ready for treatment. PRP treatment is done in two ways either by directly injecting PRP into hair roots & acne scars or done with the help of instrument called dermaroller (No injection technique).
