First the patient is advised to wash his/her face & then lines & wrinkles are marked & the area where B. T. is to be given is selected by making desired facial movements. Selected area is numbed with ice pack or local anesthetic cream as per tolerance of individual patient. Then prepared B. T. Injection is filled in syringe & proper units are injected in selected muscle. Actually pain of injection is so minimal that no anesthesia is required. It is very simple procedure & hardly takes 30 minutes for completion. There are no marks or any changes remain on face after injection & patient can perform his routine work immediately after the procedure. After 24-48 hours you will start noticing improvement in wrinkles & final result will come in week.
​ Various studies have shown that wrinkles do not worsen if B. T. is discontinued. Wrinkles will reappear on same place after the effect of B. T. will go, but it takes 1 year & the process is very slow. On long term use of B. T. the doses get decreased & frequency of treatment required less & less because in spite the effect of B. T. remain for 1 year it avoids the skin from getting permanent lines & wrinkles on face which is called as static line.

B. T. is generally done for facial wrinkles. Wrinkles usually appear after age of 40 but rarely it can appear in young age.
